New bespoke meeting table for Loughborough University.
Fusion have designed and installed an unusual bespoke university meeting table for Loughborough University. The table design process was based on the clients request to fit as many people as possible in the faculty meeting room. The room itself is an unusual triangular shape that presents a challenge to make best use of space as well as creating a usable meeting table with integral cable management.
Bespoke Meeting Table
The bespoke meeting table is designed to seat a maximum of 15 people, and works well as a 10-seater for day to day use. As well as designing a table shape that works within the room the table design carefully considers placement of joins in the tops, and positioning of support legs to avoid any clash with seating positions. The last element was to equip the table with power sockets and cable management for a neat and functional plug-in of laptops.
This picture actually shows 16 chairs around the table which is a bit of a squeeze for knee space and more chairs than the intended max of 15.
The table is manufactured in a white laminate finish with chrome legs. The meeting chairs are upholstered in 4 fabric colours to bring in a touch of variety and interest.

We’ll take into account positioning of screen and presentation position if applicable, and then space plan several layout suggestions. We evaluate seating positions, joins in table tops, and leg frames, to design a table layout that best fits a room, avoids clash of users with the structure of the table, and that can be manufactured to budget. Sometimes bespoke meeting tables are intended to be eye-catching, or as with this table at Loughborough University the objective was a cost-effective, easy-to-use, meeting table in an unusual room shape.
