Stacking School Hall Chairs
Stacking and folding school hall chairs for use in assembly halls, concert rooms and for events such as Parents Evenings. These stackable school chairs offer tried and tested methods to accommodate large numbers of chairs in compact storage areas and are easy to clear away using trolleys. As an alternative to stacking school chairs we also offer the flip-up seat design which allows chairs to nest. These can take more space when stored but are quicker and easier to set out or fold away. The choice is dependent upon how the space will be used. If chairs need minimum storage area stackers are best. However if the hall is mostly used with chairs set out a flip-up chair might be easier to live with. Stacking school chairs with wheels are another consideration. Aimed more at versatility rather than high-density stacking these chairs are an interesting hybrid.
School stacking chairs are a balance between comfort as one criteria, ease of stacking and arranging, and durability. Budget also plays an important part in the choice of chair. European and UK manufactured chairs typically have long warranties and will be tested to withstand the rigours of an education environment. Chairs that have lower initial capex costs can offset any cost savings through a greater failure rate over its lifetime.
Chair Stacking Density
As a guide school auditorium chairs stack up to 20 high on a trolley for hard-seat designs. Some ranges will stack in higher numbers but weight and the height to add more than 20 mean this is a practical limit. Padded chairs with upholstered seat can stack up to 10 high to avoid the weight crushing the foams. Choosing a chair that stacks in 20s has an added advantage of freeing-up floorspace and de-cluttering.
Chair width will have an impact of numbers that can be seated in a room. Narrow seating for auditoriums will give greater numbers in a seat row, but will be less comfortable. Balancing the need for numbers in a hall or classroom versus the time someone can sit comfortably is a matter of judgement, and also trialling chairs to road-test the comfort.
